Praying for an End to Violence in our City

In anticipation of the inclement weather expected to impact Philadelphia and the surrounding region this weekend, the National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia has decided to postpone this walking pilgrimage scheduled for Saturday, October 1, 2022, until a later time.

Thank you for your flexibility and understanding.
Please keep all those impacted by Hurricane Ian in your prayers.

Are you saddened, scared or upset by the rise in violence in our city?
Do you wish there was more you could do to bring peace?

You are invited to join the National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia for a special walking pilgrimage in Philadelphia on Saturday, October 1, 2022 in recognition of the International Day of Non-Violence the following day.

Guided by Christ’s call to be peacemakers, and inspired by the life of Saint Rita who knew the work of peacemaking in her own life, we will meet at the Shrine for a prayer service beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by a 2 mile walk to the Healing Garden at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church (arriving around 11:30 a.m.) and then take the subway back to the Shrine.
